Drop-In Sinks

Drop-in sinks are versatile and practical. It’s a staple in every home. Installing a sink can be a daunting task, but here are the basic steps to install your drop-in sink yourself.

Installing a drop-in sink yourself:

1. Position your template so it is centered on the drop-in sink cabinet with a minimum of 1 1/2 inches back from the countertop's front edge. Tape the template in place and then just simply outline it with a marker.

2. Now you’ll have to remove the template and start cutting along the inside of the line. You will want to be sure to prevent your cutout from snapping off as you cut. One way to do that is to screw a piece of wood on the top of the cutout and long enough so it spans the opening.

3. Next, a watertight seal between the drop-in sink and the countertop will be required. Simply apply a bead of silicone caulk or plumber's putty around the entire perimeter of the underside of the drop-in sink's lip.

4. Carefully insert your drop-in sink into the opening.

5. Space and tighten the special mounting clips according to the manufacturer’s directions.

That’s it, your drop-in sink is installed! Now you just have to connect the plumbing to it.
